As certified Orthotist, Carla is an allied health professional who is specifically educated and clinically trained to manage the provision of comprehensive orthotic care, based upon a clinical assessment, to restore physiological function. As the practitioner responsible for all aspects of this patient care, she collaborates with all Group 23 rehabilitation team members to provide comprehensive orthotic care.

Carla has an endless drive to improve function of patients and the orthotic and prosthetic profession.  Carla has been, and is still involved with volunteer positions.  She coached soccer and basketball coach for Special Olympics for many years.  Carla is the past President of the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists. She is currently the Chair of the Nomination Committee, and a committee member for Standards and Ethics for Orthotics & Prosthetics Canada.  Carla has been a board member for the Alberta Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists.  She also volunteers internationally, as a board member for the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics Canada.  Carla is the Canadian representative on joint North American Committee responsible for organizing the 2021 ISPO World Congress in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Carla earned her undergrad degree in Physical Activity and Sports Studies from the University of Winnipeg. As a student in the Athletic Therapy Program, she was encouraged to pursue a path in prosthetics and orthotics. She is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology Prosthetics and Orthotics Program.  Carla completed her orthotics residency in Calgary in 2006.  Carla is currently employed at Alberta Orthotic & Prosthetic Centre.

Carla enjoys outdoor activities and spending time in the mountains.
